Arktika-2007 – new MVK’s project

The official website of MVK has launched a new project Arktika-2007! MVK is the official information partner of Arktika-2007 and will highlight the work of North Pole-35.

The MVK team gave a full coverage of the High-latitude arctic deep water expedition during which “Mir-1” and “Mir-2” set the Russian flag on the floor of the Arctic ocean. Exponents of the MVK museum “Role of HISTORY in life and business” came to the movement – together with the hydronauts they dived to the Arctic ocean floor at the North Pole point!

The expedition was headed by the special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation on issues of the International polar year, Hero of the Soviet union Arthur Chilingarov.

The High-latitude arctic deep water expedition Arktika-2007 was held in the frames of the International polar year. Soon the ice of the Arctic ocean basin will welcome a new polar station North Pole-35.

Head of the project “North Pole – Role of HISTORY in life and business” Alexey Shaburov noticed that “This expedition will broaden the boarders of our polar museum. We clearly realize the meaning of this event for Russia, for exploration and development of our polar lands. We have made a museum dedicated to Papaninites. Today our aim is to help them come to the North. We wish them to come here as kind masters and loving sons of the Arctic. We are confident that our museum will encourage them to make this wise step, and they will become great scientists in arctic laboratories and centres, builders, pilots and sailors”.

We remind everyone that MVK International Exhibition Company organized the museum “Role of HISTORY in life and business”. It is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the first drifting station “North Pole-1”, flights of Chkalov and Gromov through the North Pole to America.

The centre of the polar museum’s exposition was the model of Papanin’s tent and the tent coloured in the Russian flag’s colours. They were settled on the top of the planet and opened the first exhibition at the North Pole. The MVK expedition flew to the 90º Nord in the mid-April and set the MVK and Russian flags.

Today the museum “Role of HISTORY in life and business” numbers 300 exhibits. These are unique photos, personal things and household utensils of the polar explorers. Exhibits were kindly lent by seven Russian museums, private collections, the Polar Association and relatives of Vodopiyanov, O. Schmidt.

In a year the polar museum will be displayed in Moscow, St.Petersburg, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Ekaterinburg, Rostov-on-Don – all those cities where MVK mounted its representative offices. Recently it was exposed in the State Duma of the Russian Federation. The exposition is planned to be visited by over 1.5 million people.
