The opening of the polar museum: the MVK Arctic history

Grand opening of the Mobile polar museum, The Role of HISTORY in life and business, was held on May 17 in Crocus Expo International Exhibition Centre. It brought together people who made a significant contribution to the development of the Arctic, and who continued their steps in the present, revived the interest of young people to the events of 70 years ago. The guys of different ages from children group “Hope” were at the opening ceremony. Perhaps, one of them is to become a scientist, researcher or explorer.

The historical and patriotic museum displays more than 300 items, including household goods, personal belongings, photos, video chronicles and archival documents. Thanks to the MVK 115 exhibitions, more than one million people are to visit the mobile polar museum.

To open the polar museum, MVK organized an expedition to the North Pole. The world’s first exhibition, the first musical performance of classical works, the first international football match ... There was a lot of interesting things. Participants thought about the most exciting moments of the expedition.

Great presentation was held by partners: the project author, CEO, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MVK, Alexey Shaburov and President of MVK, Andrey Lapshin. The event was opened by a cellist, the winner of first prize and Gold medal of Tchaikovsky Contest, Mstislav Rostropovich Grant Holder, Denis Shapovalov.

Honorary diplomas of conquering the North Pole were awarded to all who contributed to the implementation of the large-scale project including Vladimir Schmidt, the son of Otto Schmidt, Svetlana Boldyreva, granddaughter of the prominent polar pilot Mikhail Vodopianov, Valentina Kuznetsova, president of the Snowstorm Club, the MVK directors and employees and other project participants. Director of the Russian State Museum of Arctic and Antarctic, the honorary Russian polar explorer and an active project participant, Viktor Boiarsky awarded a diploma to the project author, Mr. Shaburov for the expedition organization.

The North Pole - new opportunities in life and business, the flight to the North Pole became a test of will and unity of the participants. Representatives from various companies have become a real strong team. A relaxed, friendly atmosphere prevailed at the opening ceremony of the MVK polar museum.

“Such projects can be implemented only by the company with a cohesive and professional team, with staff who value the heritage of the past”, said Alexey Shaburov at the opening. “The project required a large number of professionals and people who have a direct bearing on the history of the Arctic exploration. All together we have combined exhibition and museum activities. Visiting the museum, everyone can learn the best achievements of our past deeds and years”.

Historical memory is the wealth of our country. The glorious history is doing the state stronger, inspiring new achievements. And the Museum, The Role of HISTORY in life and in business, has become one of them.
