I know about the interesting idea of the MVK Company and I think that this is a great idea. After all, the Arctic is our home, our habitat! The cold, harsh, windy, icy, but for us it is the warmest, most comfortable place on Earth. Unfortunately, those times when the whole country dreamed of the Arctic, had gone. Heroes! The famous Papnin’s Four… Today, interest in the Arctic has cooled down. But I am very grateful to our President, who in the Council of State in Murmansk has decided to establish the Arctic National Council.
Your project is the enduring importance of patriotic education. If we do not argue, talk, show, or think of those heroes, we are to lose the rest. So your project is reminiscent of the heroic polar explorers, the legendary ice captains and many other things, concerning the Arctic — this is a great deal of re-education not only for adolescents, but also for older people.
Well, we would recommend you to cooperate not only with our Murmansk museum, but also with the school’s museum of Gymnasium 4. The museum has already existed for 20 years. There you can hear the living voice of Schmidt and Papanin. You know, children of the school offer such ideas on Arctic development, the strengthening of its role, defending the priority of Russia in the Arctic that even politicians of the highest rank cannot imagine.
Let me stress once again that your idea of the museum is exciting, and we look forward to meeting the exposition of the museum here.
